About the Role We are hiring Senior Platform Engineers to modernize and scale eBay's development and staging environments mission-critical infrastructure that underpins software delivery and forms a core foundation of our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). Instability in development environments directly impacts pipeline success and developer productivity. In this role, you will drive reliability improvements, reduce systemic friction, and ensure our infrastructure scales securely and efficiently as eBay grows. What You ll Do Design and build microservices (Java / Spring Boot) that extend and integrate with eBay s IDP Develop intuitive front-end experiences for the Internal Developer Platform using React Build, operate, and scale Kubernetes-based development environments Design automated, reproducible, and highly reliable dev/staging infrastructure Reduce pipeline failures caused by environment dependencies Drive automation and operational excellence through Python scripting Strengthen the scalability, resilience, and performance of eBay s Internal Developer Platform What You ll Bring Proven experience building microservices using Java / Spring Boot Frontend development experience with React Strong Python scripting and automation skills Deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure Strong distributed systems and platform engineering fundamentals High ownership mindset with focus on reliability, scalability, and developer productivity This is a hands-on Platform Engineering role focused on designing and building critical developer infrastructure not a QE, administrator, or support role.
