Job description Role & responsibilities A Bank Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately, maintaining cash balances, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Cash Handling Accept cash deposits and process withdrawals. Count, verify, and balance cash transactions. Ensure accuracy in all cash-related activities. Detect counterfeit currency and report discrepancies. 2. Customer Service Assist customers with account-related inquiries. Provide information about banking products and services. Resolve basic customer concerns professionally and efficiently. Maintain a positive customer experience. 3. Transaction Processing Process cheques, demand drafts, and fund transfers. Handle payments, remittances, and account deposits. Verify customer identity and transaction documents. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and procedures. 4. Record Maintenance Maintain accurate transaction records. Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift. Prepare daily transaction reports. Maintain confidentiality of customer information. 5. Compliance and Security Follow bank policies and regulatory guidelines. Monitor suspicious transactions and report them as required. Ensure safe handling of cash and sensitive documents. Adhere to anti-fraud and anti-money laundering procedures.
