Job description Job Description Deputy Manager Production (Formulation) Industry: Agrochemical / Chemical Manufacturing Position Title Deputy Manager Production (Formulation) Department Production Formulation Reporting To Plant Head Location Manufacturing Plant Job Purpose To manage and monitor formulation production activities to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements. Responsible for optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to ensure smooth plant operations. Key Responsibilities Production Operations Plan and execute daily formulation production activities as per production schedule. Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of resources. Monitor batch processing, blending, filling, packing, and dispatch activities. Ensure adherence to SOPs, BMR/BPR, and process parameters. Coordinate with QA, QC, Stores, Engineering, and EHS departments for smooth operations. Process & Productivity Improvement Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction. Minimize process losses, wastage, downtime, and rework. Implement productivity improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices. Monitor equipment efficiency and coordinate preventive maintenance activities. Quality & Compliance Ensure production activities comply with GMP, ISO, and company quality standards. Maintain accurate production records and batch documentation. Ensure compliance with pollution control, factory act, and safety regulations. Participate in internal and external audits. Safety & EHS Ensure safe handling of chemicals and adherence to safety procedures. Conduct toolbox talks and safety training for workmen and operators. Ensure proper usage of PPE and implementation of safety practices. Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Team Management Supervise operators, chemists, and contract manpower in shift operations. Allocate manpower effectively to achieve operational efficiency. Train and develop production team members on SOPs and safety practices. Maintain discipline and coordination among shift employees. Inventory & Documentation Monitor consumption of raw materials and packing materials. Coordinate with stores for material availability. Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, and MIS data. Ensure proper documentation of production and operational records. Educational Qualification B.Sc / M.Sc Chemistry B.Tech / Diploma in Chemical Engineering preferred Experience 8 to 12 years of experience in formulation production in Agrochemical / Chemical industry. Experience in handling formulation plants such as EC, SC, WG, WP, GR formulations preferred.
