Job description Purpose/Objective Team Member - Group Logistics Assurance is responsible for executing on-ground logistics assurance tasks including process observation, data validation, and site-level implementation of digital and governance solutions across the Group’s logistics network. This role involves extensive coordination with BU plant teams, support for technology rollout (GPS, RFID, fuel management), and ongoing verification of policy compliance and operational metrics. Operating in a fully executional capacity, the team member ensures that logistics SOPs are being followed, dashboards are accurately updated, and assurance mechanisms are supported through timely documentation, field feedback, and local issue resolution Key Responsibilities of Role Process Mapping and Observation: Travel across logistics-intensive sites—cement plants, mines, power plants—to document current processes such as truck loading/unloading, route optimization, warehouse handling, and driver behavior. Capture deviations, inefficiencies, and risks first-hand and provide structured documentation to support root-cause analysis and solution design. Policy Adherence and Compliance: Regularly check if issued policies (driver hours, fuel pilferage monitoring, delivery order sequencing) are being followed at plant level, and escalate non-compliance with evidence. Assist in verifying whether digitized governance mechanisms (e. g. , first-in-first-out truck dispatch) are fully enforced and tamper-proof. Digitization Rollouts at Site Level: Work with BU plant logistics teams to implement digital solutions like RFID readers, dashcams, fuel sensors, and GPS tracking on owned fleet, ensuring proper calibration and use. Support integration of these tools into central dashboards, troubleshoot technical issues, and help plants interpret the outputs for local improvements. Project Data for Reporting: Collect, clean, and structure logistics performance data (e. g. , unloading times, GPS routes, vehicle fuel efficiency) from SAP, BI dashboards, and on-site records for monthly review. Work closely with analytics team members to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency before it is submitted for senior management review. Cross-BU Learnings and Replication: Document best practices observed in certain BUs (e. g. , port-side rail efficiency, AI use in import freight booking) and package them for replication across similar logistics contexts. Coordinate pilot testing and feedback loops when new tools, templates, or SOPs are introduced across plants or businesses. Vendor and System Integration: Liaise with approved vendors for tech installations (dashcams, fuel systems) and ensure seamless handover to BU teams post-deployment. Validate system functionality, guide local staff on usage, and support monthly report generation to ensure systems deliver intended assurance metrics. Project Timelines and Documentation: Maintain detailed trackers, progress reports, and documentation for each ongoing project under their scope, highlighting milestones, risks, and pending items. Serve as the operational continuity point during follow-ups, audits, or site visits, ensuring all updates are timely, accurate, and traceable.
